We wake up every morning and the first thing we do is use water; we brush our teeth, we take a shower, we fill our glasses…Our daily habits depend on the consumption of water.
Thailand has two seasons. Dry and wet. Water is plentiful. But, it is not always accessible. And if it is, it is not drinkable. Water borne diseases are a serious problem. But with limited options, people drink the water anyway.
Thousands of hill tribe people in northern Thailand wake up every morning, wishing to do the same things we do; needing to do the same things we do: use and consume (safe) water.
Providing clean and safe water has and will always be ITDP’s first priority for the hill tribe communities. Water projects are completed by staff and international volunteers. Currently, ITDP has developed over 250 water projects.
